The way Airiac works is simple and easy to understand: Overall, there are two main airflows around the vehicle interior. Used air flows out of the interior into the open air.
At the same time, fresh outside air flows in via the ventilation system. Where the outward airflow takes the expensively generated heat with it, the usually significantly colder fresh air additionally lowers the interior temperature and increases the heating requirement.
This is exactly where Airiac comes in. As a direct air-to-air heat exchanger, it connects exhaust and supply air from an energy perspective. The heat contained in the exhaust air is extracted and used to pre-temper the supply air. This means that most of the heat energy remains inside the vehicle. The actual heating system now only takes over the part of the heat generation that compensates for the other losses via radiation, etc.
Airiac uses a plastic heat exchanger, a lightweight, space-saving and at the same time cost-effective technology, without having to use a refrigerant. Both the ease of series production and the sustainability concept are appreciated in this product and incorporated into the overall development.
